Variable Waveguide Attenuators

  These variable attenuators provide inexpensive, well shielded, low-level attenuation.  The range of application includes: isolating oscillators and other microwave devises; adjusting power-levels in microwave networks; and reducing reflections in waveguide circuits.
  The metallized element is secured to the adjusting rod, thereby offering considerable protection against shock and vibration.  The adjusting mechanism contains a precision lead screw which enable fine adjustment of power level settings.  A marking indicator is provided for visual presentation of approximate attenuation setting. The attenuating element is completely enclosed and special consideration has been given to the design of the adjusting mechanism to provide effective over-all shielding and an absolute minimum of radiation leakage.
  These instruments function extremely well in applications where a low level system must be operated in regions of high level exterior R.F. fields.  The metallized attenuating elements are not appreciable affected by severe extremes of temperature and humidity and offer excellent long life stability under fixed settings.  Maximum VSWR for each unit is 1.20 over an attenuation range of 0 to 20.0dB.  Alternate flanges are available.  See flange section.  Finish is instrument gray enamel.
